Bear Mechanical HVAC

I spearheaded a content overhaul for an HVAC company based out of Hayward, CA. We worked together to update their website, which had not been modified since its initial creation over five years ago. We met to discuss how we could update their website to fit their needs and I made recommendations to improve the SEO visibility and accessibility for customers.

We discussed ways to approach giving the customer more information about the business’s background and reputation. The client was very humble and wanted to keep the business’s story to a minimum. I suggested that instead, we let their work speak for them. To add context to the About Us page, which was previously brief, I incorporated the business’s accreditations and testimonials from customers, in addition to using calls to action to direct customers to the estimate page and contact page to increase pages per session and improve bounce rates.

I enhanced the functionality of the site’s estimate form by adding a Google Maps API to the address text box. Since customers would often leave out the city and ZIP code from their address, this improves ease for the users, who are able to select their address with less effort, in addition to removing difficulties for the business owner that arose from having to track down more information from the customer. I also added more options to the drop-down menu, so customers can be more informed about the type of service they are requesting and further clarification for the business owner.

I added more specific copy to the Services page to increase the types of services that the website would be a result for. This functions as a way to educate customers about the services they may receive, since customer engagement and education is essential to the way this business operates.

I also performed other minor upgrades and error correction on the front end of the web page and debugging in the WordPress interface.
