Website Design for Carolina Ixta

One fun and simple project I had the pleasure of working on was building a webpage for an Oakland-based young adult author, Carolina Ixta.

The brief for the website was minimal, neutral colored, and easy for the client to maintain herself. I built the color palette to feature warm whites, browns, and blacks.

With the clean and pared-down design, the links to social media and to pre-order the novel are more prominent.

Finally, I was able to integrate the artwork of the cover artist, R. Kikuo Johnson, into the site header to create visual ties between the website and the book’s cover to strengthen branding.
